27th Annual Walk for Hospice raises more than $170,000 for Hospice of the South Shore

On Saturday, March 24th, more than 2,000 individuals came out to South Shore Plaza in Braintree to participate in the 27th annual Walk for Hospice. The morning, emceed by Mike Wankum from WCVB Channel 5, was complete with eight entertainment groups including a speed painter and Curry College’s dance team, a photo booth, giant games, more than 30 vendor tables, and a touching story from Tim Cahill about his family’s experience with Hospice of the South Shore.

This year, through the help of 72 teams, 200 volunteers, sponsors, and individuals, the Walk raised more than $170,000 to provide end-of-life care and bereavement services to more than 600 families on the South Shore. These funds allow no patient to be turned away regardless of his or her ability to pay.

Thank you to everyone who participated. We can’t wait to see you again next year!
